How NMBAA fits into BAA
Nurturing Mothers Breastfeeding Advocacy Australia (NMBAA) is the part of Breastfeeding Advocacy Australia (BAA) designed to offer trained peer support for breastfeeding and mothering within a clear ethical framework and without commercial influence. NMBAA recognises the inherent expertise of women as breastfeeders. We seek to instil confidence in mothers to nurture their babies at their breast and reassure them it is the biological norm, even though they are living in a society that seeks to separate them for profit.
Above all, mothers are the experts and if they need medical or professional assistance during their breastfeeding journey, advice should complement this expertise, not question it.
